Which TV programs you let your kid watch? Now my daughter watches 3 TV programs. In fact, it’s only one is TV program, others are download from internet. The three programs is following:

1. I am not sure if the Channel called ‘tree house’. It’s a story about a little tortoise named ‘Franklin’. He always faced some situations such as how to play with others, how to deal with a thing successfully. Both my daughter and I like this program. When I watch them I will think what should I do if I am the mother of Franklin. I learn some education methods from it. My daughter learns how to get alone with other friends and how to do a thing successfully. It’s good for train good character.

2. A Chinese DVD program named “QiaoHu”. It teaches kids many good diary habits or introduces some things about natural or society. It also teaches singing and dancing. But there is one problem: maybe some times you will feel the songs jangles on your ears. It likes a fast food. It is not complicated tailoring. My daughter likes it and can learn some things good. And from this she can learn Chinese too.

3. A TV program about a girl named ‘Rora’ who likes discovery. It’s a very popular program for child in Canada. It always begin with ‘ We will do…..’ and end with ‘We did it ,we did it…’ I like her self-confidence. It’s a good program. And I can study English too.

It’s a good time we watch the programs with my daughter. My daughter likes dancing with the persons in the program. Funny thing :)

Yes, my family is coming to join me soon. I am the pioneer to make everything ready.  We're lucky, it seems like everything is moving smoothly till now, even better than we had expected. In fact, my daughter is eager to come back Canada. I had already shown her the picture of her bedroom. I am sure that she must have been too excited to sleep for several nights. Canada is very good country for enjoying family life. I love Canada!

You're a good mother too. It can be seen that you've made great efforts in educating your daughter during daily life. As a matter of fact, youself is a good example to your daughter because you can keep learning and strongly face great difficulty in the new life. With stalwart persistance, I believe you'll reach your goal soon. Trust yourself, it won't take long for your family to fully enjoy the new community.

I love Canada too.
I hesitated coming here before. I thought it was too cold in winter and too hot in summer in toronto. I hesitated what I could do. I am afraid money is not enough to support us......  When I came here, I found it didn't like my imagination.
1.It's so beautiful here.
2. Winter is not so terrible except too long period. In fact it's warmer than GuangZhou because there are central heating and hot water indoor all day.
3. If you have a job even a labour job, Living expense is not so high. The most expensive stuff is rent fee(I think it's too high, almost same amount with China), others are cheaper. You can eat well with little money if you cook it yourself.

Of course, there are many disadvantage too.

I didn't want to immigrate before. But now I found it's a good choice. It is suitible for common people to live here, like me. Of course, it is suitible for exercellent person too, like you :)

it is a big surprise. i thought Xianyun was a lady at first, then a happy single man . later in your post about buying the house i began to know you wr married. but now i find out your daughter even might be older than my son.

i will never trust my sixth sense on internet.  it is too far away from the fact.
you r a cold-blooded father, but an excellent one. a pioneer of the family.

i have read a lot of compalints from some people who came to canada, or just their real suffering experience. it scared me really.

but from your speeches, i was encouraged a lot. different people have different experience. we should trust ourselves.

i hope all those who r in canada happy everyday. don't forget to share your experience with us. anyway, enjoy ourselves wherever we r.

You're right! All my friends are enjoying their happy life in Canada now. As a matter of fact, all my friends have found good job in three years and all of them have bought house in four years. Whether or not new immigrants can integrate into the new society quickly really depends on their efforts in grasping the language and developing a new career.

I think you'd better change "in home" to "at home", jiayi!

Well, although I got level 7 in link assessment, I still can't catch up many talkings on TV or radio, especially when they talk quickly with many slangs or on a topic unknown to me. So it's quite a common problem for all newcomers in spite of his/her English level. Don't be ashamed of yourself at all!

i am not sure if this Franklin is the same with the one my son have watched. he did not like the program, although i think it is very good. he likes to watch Dora and Charlie, the simple and naive type. hehe. the later one is in british accent,which i don't like. but the content is very good, cute and lovely. if it is in American accent, it will be much better.

when my son was in kindergarten, he liked to watch Follow gogo to study english. it is a good program for little kids.

I enjoy my life here. Every weekend we talk about where we can go to play. Just like today, these two days are open door in Toronto. There are 175 places are open to public. While at ordinary times some are not open, some need to pay. But these two days they are all free. So we visited three places with our friends today. It’s seldom to stay in home in summer weekend.

Most of the persons I met have professional jobs. Some found the jobs directly, some went to the college first, some do casual job first. But finally they all have professional job. And their salaries are not bad. So they all enjoy their life here. I used to think most of us could found a profession job until another Chinese joined our LINC class. We like to talk our feeling in Canada in the break time. He worked in a factory. He told me a lot of immigrants worked there. Most of them are technical immigrants. He said there were so many Chinese in his factory and there were so many factories in Toronto. He let me think how many immigrants work in the factory. He used to be a manager in China, now he plans to drive truck. And he already got the license. Although it’s very difference life style, he enjoys his life too. We made an appointment to BBQ next weekend with some Chinese families. He told me he didn’t regret to come here. It’s just a different life style, not regret.

So it’s very difficult to say coming Canada is right or not. Different person has different feeling. Even same person in different period has different feeling too.

Today is a leisure day.
Some internet friends get together today to have A BBQ in morningside park today. We planed to join them and bought some food yesterday. But I felt a little tired after going outside all day and shopping food later. So we gave up to go outside today. Just stay at home. There will have another internet friends’ BBQ Next Saturday. Maybe we join it next time. So next weekend is BBQ weekend. One is with internet friends, another is with my linc classmate. BBQ is very popular in summer.
Staying at home is a happy time too. We don’t need do everything in a hurry. I told stories to my daughter and played with her. There is no plenty time to do it at ordinary times. My daughter has a sleep now, it can last for almost 3 hours. It’s free time

Thank you! I always speak Chinese English. ‘at home' was taught in junior middle school.  

Waw, Your linc level is 7! It's a long distance I should go. I don't know how long it should take.

I have a lot of nerve.  I know most of you are masters or doctors,many are professors. But I still post my English diary here. I am glad you can help me to correct my errors. But my husband always criticize me about it. He always ask me read English articles first .

Noooooo! You must read and actively practice at the same time! Don't follow the Chinese way of English learning that always results in "mute" English, just like most Chinese immigrants', including my  ability to use English. Be sure to balance your ability in  both reading and writing, listening and speaking.

From today, I will add a new item into my English diary.

After every diary, I’ll add at least one sentence follow it. It can help me know how to express correctly to others. And only need add one sentence every day, it’s not difficult to me because I have written the diary everyday.  

Many a little makes a mickle! Will you join us?
