Please don’t laugh at me if I tell you my level in Linc class.
I am so afraid to tell you……OK, I say it now. I am just level 3. Some times I am shy to put my English essay in the forum. But I think since the introduction of the ‘English Salon’ is “Any Topics in One Language - English ‘, I’ll take it easy.

Last Linc class we studied together with the Linc 6 class. Oh, I suffered from stress very much.It’s a widening gap between us. Many times I couldn’t catch them.I don’t know when I can get that level. And I know the level 6 is still not enough. I have a very long distance to go.

I am really under stress very much since last Linc class. In the past three days, I listened to the radio or watched TV when I am leisure. But it seemed no use, I still can’t catch what they are talking about. I know it’s not a day work to grasp English. it needs time. But I am so eager to grasp it as quickly as I can.I admit I am in a state of anxiety now.

Do you know why I ask your level?Because I think your English is very well. I 'm so shy that I am scare to admit that my English level is Linc 3.so I assum your level should be Linc4 or up. I just write a little,I can't understand ridio and TV either.I haven't found a good way to learn English.This take me 20 minuts.

Shake hands! Both of us know level 3 are too low. But it is fact, we have to face it.

I think I know how to improve it. Listening to the radio, watching TV, reading articles, talking with others (some times you can talk to yourself if nobody talking with you), writing essay, memorizing the new words.......

Except method, most important thing is persistence. Just like YueMing said
' rome was not built in one day'.
When I wrote my first diary, I spent half a day because too many words I should check it in dictionary, but I spent less time on it now. I know there are many errors in my essay, but you can understand me. It’s the first step.

Do you think it is easy to make friends in a new environment? It seemed difficult to me.

I have been here for almost one year. Shopping, talking, working…. All these things are with my husband. I see him from morning to night, from night to morning. Do you think it’s terrible?

I can figure out how many persons I recognized here easily. Three families are from my daughter’s daycare, two families are colleague, two classmates, one family introduced by my classmate. That’s all.  I found an interesting thing: when I typed this. I all used family. I know their family, not one person. In Canada, it’s is popular that whole family are present at an event. When we go out in weekend, we are always with other family not a person.

In china, I can easily ask my friend to shopping or tell her what I worried about. But now, I can’t. They said I could talk with them in QQ, but it is not real-time. Shopping with them is impossible too.

Although I recognize some persons, but we can’t talk further. Some are too busy, some live too far. It’s hard to have time to talking some topics together. That’s one reason I want to go to college. One of my friends here is in college. She told me she made many friends there. There were too many activities she could involved in. And I want to move a place which large numbers of Chinese immigrants lives together too. But all are just thoughts, I can’t do it now.

It take new comers some time to make new friends and integrate into the new society. It's natural! To go to a college is not a bad idea.

As to English learning, I would say: never mind making errors. We're non-native speakers, so using wrong words with wrong grammar is completely understandable. As a matter of fact, I am making such kind of errors all the time, but I never care about that.

I think you are a good teacher. An inspire speech, It's very useful. I should use this method to educate my daughter. But I am not good at it. Learn it from you too. Your son must like you very much :)

I admire you that you know a lot of English words.I must use  dictionary to look up some new words in your diary.so I believe you'll remove to level 4 soon.
Beside, I 've come Canada almost 9 months,I met some problem like you. although my wife comprehend me,but I  am still anxious.

Although I am in Canada, I have few chances to speak English too. Maybe speaking to ourselves  is a good way. But it seems I am mad .
