那时枫叶

To tell the truth, I start writing English diary after the IELTS test, and felt a little frustrated from these days practise. Originally I have a good habit to write something every night before I go to bed to record the feelings or special outcome or comments for everyday life. But now I have to write all these in English and found out it is very boring to turn all the interesting things into English, a language I can't use and think fluently.

So I will be thrown into the environment in pure English if I choose to live in Canada. Considering that, I feel frightened. How will I be fit into a new country and a new culture with my family? That will be a real big challenge, I suppose.

Well, I do admire you all who have already been there and led simple life and given the instructions to the later people.

I have the same feeling. i once have tried to write diary in english, but it was hard to describe the feeling as in chinese. so i just gave up and picked up chinese again. english can be a working language and communication tool but not a mothertongue. i think this is why people who r already in ca still like to come to chinese forums.

Don't worry too much. I think both of you can adapt Canadian new life more quickly than me. Your English are good. I remember I met a Chinese mother in the first month I was in Canada. She told me it was very quickly I could understand spoken English because she did it. But speaking was more difficult. At that time, I thought I might understand it quickly. However, I still can't understand most of the spoken English now. The reason is my English is really poor. The vocabulary is too small. For you two, I believe you can understand it very quilkly once you are in the English enviorment. Just like the Chinese mother. She is a nurse now. It's a long distance between our English level.

Some people feel it's difficult to fit into a new country and a new culture. Different persons have different feelings. For me, I don't feel so much about that because I still play with Chinese in the most of the time. And I like it. For example, we had the potluck in a park, went to the zoo or beach, picked the cherries......

I have to admit some times the divergence of different cultures are huge. Canada is a country of immigrants. Multiculture is one of the characters. For other courtries' culture I can accept it, but I'll still live in Chinese culture with Chinese people. That's why I don't feel difficult to fit the new country.

To accommodate the environment of Canada, you should'nt always stay with Chinese and speak Chinese. Try to join some activities of community. Or you can try to speak more English with your families. That will help you to enhance your English abilities and your rate to accomodate the new environment.

Yes, I'll try to do it.
Usually I speak English with others on weekdays because the neighbours and the colleagues speak English. But I speak Chinese with Chinese in weekend.  But I talk much less than before.   You are right, I should try to speak more English.

The strike in Toronto finished.

Finally, the city officials and the labour union came to a agreement on last Friday. The labour union made some concession, not so much. Later ,the city officials accepted it.

Anyway, the 40 days' strike ended. Last week some outside workers went back to work. I found the grass in the public lawn was cut last week. This moring some workers were building the road. The city-run daycares, pools, garbage collection, parks and recreation services go back to work this week. It's a good news.The city resumes its normal state.

In the strike time, I find a interesting thing too. There are differents wild flowers in the lawn. I can't find them in usual time because they were cut too quickly. But in the strike time, they growed and floruished, in white or yellow.The lawn with many wild flowers, I like this view.

Today I did two stupid things. My mind kept wandering all day. One reason is I don’t get enough sleep and another reason is I am in a bad mood today.

The one stupid thing is I entered a colleague’s office directly, so suddenly! Usually I would knock at the door first, then enter other’s office. Today I don't know what I am thinking about when I am doing the things.

Another stupid thing happened just now. I washed the dish in the company’s washroom after I finished my supper. Suddenly my boss came in and asked me “Are you singing? “ At that time I just found I was singing. Oh, my god, I did it but I didn’t realize that I was doing it! Although it was at off-duty time, but other three persons were there, including two bosses. It seems I am mad.

Some times, a person’s mood likes tides, up and down.

I am too old to know the new songs and I don't know the English songs too.  I sang LiuRuoYing's old song 'crazy to love'. Do you like LiuRuoYing whose another name is 'milk tea'? I like her, especially after I saw the vedio following. If you have time you could take a look.

At that time,'Milk tea' is much more famous than her lover who was her teacher too. But in front of him, she just like a little girl. When she stared at him, the love is so obvious. Every sentence he said she put it into her heart. In front of him, she is always his student, no matter how success she is. The vedio is a little long but touching. I cried with her when I saw the vedio.


I alomost forget what's the love. But In my opinon, 'Milk tea' is always in a status --- falling in love, with both the happiness and the pain. Some times, the best one is just the one you can't have. From this vedio, I think she is singing from her heart. She always sing for one person---ChenShen.

She loves him so much and almost everybody knows the fact. She might live like one of her song 'alone all life'

    I have a good mood again. I really appreciate one friend here. She is a smart woman
    I really in a bad mood these days. The job seems hopeless. The family had cold fight again. But after shopping with one friend this afternoon, my opinion changed. The serious problems were not so serious now.
    The direction seemed not so correct before. To leaning English for learning English. The speed of learning is so slow. I'll study in a training course about .NET, it is taught by English. I can learn both technology and English. I can have my classmates and the network too. It's really a good suggestion.
     I always say that I am busy. It's just a excuse. In fact, every new comer is busy. If you want a better life, you should be busy first. Now I know a direction in detail. I am very happy about it.  
    To the cold fight, I found it was really waste both sides's energy. Why not do something more useful?
    The friend has figured me out. Having friends is a really good thing!
