hehe , it is so early to think about it. In my opinion,as parents ,we should do now is cultivating  our kids a good habbit of living and study. Another important thing is teaching  her  how to protect herself  as her growing up day by day. I think they are more important than dress well  or eat well.
Whoever she married in the future  is not important,we can give her some advices,but we couldln't make decisions instead of her.We should tell her happy life is only depend on herself at all.
hehe,maybe she can learn a lot from her father and mother.

Hehe, it's really too early to think about it. As you know, everyday I should write down some thing, but sometimes I have nothing new to record .

I totally agree with you. The important thing is cultivating them a good habbit of living and study and teaching them how to protect themselves.

How about your new life?  I rember you are preparing your G driving license.Good luck.

I had a plan that I should study instead of playing on weekend. However, I found it was useless after I practiced last weekend.

When I stayed in home, my husband stayed in home too. So did my daughter. I didn’t have any time to study when my daughter was awake. Usually, I decide where we go in weekend and my husband check the map. He doesn’t like go outside only with my daughter. So, going to play on weekend seems a better choice. At least, all of us are happy. My daughter could have more activities. So I found an good excuse for my playing, Haha.

I saw a thread that a mum always went outside with her family, but she would study when they were playing. I am not sure if I can do this.

Well, enjoying your ourdoor life is not a bad choice. I believe you could also learn English if you could watch cartoon TV with your daughter toghter

Hehe, I watch the cartoon program such as ‘Dora’ ‘Franklin’ with my daughter. These two are her favorite program. Although we watch it together, the effects are different. My daughter’s pronounce such as ‘Dora’ is just like the program. I can’t do that. The kid’s hearing and the ability of learning are much better than the adult.

In my Linc class, many classmates speak Spanish. Now I know they speak Spanish in Mexico and Philippine. They can spell the words easily because many words are same with English words. But some times they can’t pronounce it because the pronunciation is different. They know what’s people talking about but sometimes it’s difficult to speak it out. That’s better than me. Both listening and speaking are difficult to me. Limited vocabulary is another big problem.


Some of my classmates are Indians. One of my classmates told me his wife spoke English very well. Although they were in the same country their English levels are very different. There are two types of schools in his country. One regards English as their first language. That’s why some Indian speak English pretty good.

I asked another classmate how long he had studied English. His answer shocked me. It was only two months. Oh, I had learned it for 8 years, we were in same level! Later, my teacher explained two reasons. 1. His first language French is similar to English in many places. 2. He is a musician. he might learn it more quickly than us.

Anyway, For Chinese, we should make more effort to grasp English.

These days the ‘English salon’ is hot. Usually it has about 5 threads everyday. But yesterday it has 25 threads, Do you know why?

Hehe, I would like to introduce a lovely girl to you.--- 飄逸的花瓣. When I looked her thread at first time, I think she was born here or at least live here for a long time. Later, I found a secret. Do you want to know it?

‘飄逸的花瓣.’ Is a little ‘leisure cloud’  !!!  That means she have been here for only two weeks.

Oh, XianYun. You and your daughter really did a great job. Both my husband and I want to meet your family. We believe that parents are children’s best teachers. I have a goal now. I hope my daughter can write Chinese essay just like your daughter write English essay.

The only regret is the ‘ English Salon’ is not so hot as ‘together in Canada’. Many people doesn’t see the threads of ‘飄逸的花瓣.’ at all.  Otherwise, I think many people will leave message to the lovely girl.

yes,not only for Chinese but for Chinese adult just like me, should make more effort to learn English. I am sure that I have to learn English  for life. It is really a big task for me. I should learn from anyone whose English is better than me ,such as teacher, husband,kids,neighbour,net friends, vendors,and so on. come on!

i totally agree with you. my son begins to learn board skating. he learns so fast, however, my husband and i find it is very difficult.

I have many topics with one of my LINC classmates although we are from different countries. Because she has a two-year-old kid too

She asked me to go with her to choose a cup for her daughter at the class break. I suggested the downstairs supermarket. But later we chose to buy one in a dollar store.

Suddenly I found it was really hard to a new immigrant. I never think about buying a baby’s cup in a dollar store because I don’t think the quality is good enough for a baby to drink everyday. However, life is not as easy as we hopes. For her, she had to stay home to take care of her little baby. Her husband was a lawyer. It was hard to find a professional job immediately.

It’s hard to reduce the expense because having a little baby. Most of us will choose at least an apartment instead of a basement. For example, at least it should cost $1000 for renting (include water, parking, internet, TV and so on), $400 for driving (new comer’s insurance is high), $400-$500 for food, fruit. So every month you should prepare at least $2000 whether or not you have income.

My suggestion is: 1. apply the subsidy immediately and send her daughter to the 2. At least one of them should have a regular pay work. Another could consider studying or working.

Usually it’s not so perfect for a new comer. Some times we should give up some thing.

You're right. The life would be a little bit tough for newcomer's family if there is no income available. One of the couple has to find job as soon as possible unless they have enough savings to cover all living costs.

But I believe most of immigrant's family will enjoy the new life here once regular income is got.
