Well, that's not my strength. I believe my wife is better in instructing my daughter about sex. As a matter of fact, she had done a good job in telling her something about menses. Maybe you two can share some experience later.

as i watched the soaps i also began to doubt if i really knew about the western culture. this even shook my resolution to go abroad at some extent. but gradually i came to know that it just bacause i had not been there. there are so many chinese overseas, and everyone adapts to the foreign life very well. it does not need to worry. things always change, so does our mind. each culture has its own characteristic. it can not tell which is better, but just which is perferable for individuals. don't worry.

These days the weather is very nice. Everyday when I am on the way home I regret I don’t take a camera. The sky is so blue and the cloud is so white. The sky looks so close like if you strech your arm higher then you can touch it. I remember when I was a child I am eager to touch the cloud because it looked so soft.

On the way to work is a happy trip too. There are so many little wild flowers. Some I saw them everyday on the way to school, when I was a child, such trumpet flower, wild Chrysanthemum …. Plantain was a very popular plant before. Some times we took some to make a special tea. But now it is rarely to see in my hometown. Here plantain grow everywhere. Every day when I see the wild flower or bush, I remember my childhood. Maybe it’s a signal that I am old.

Today I take a camera but I didn’t take good picture. I regret I have no time to study photography. Good news is I find a good driving coach to teach me drive. He doesn’t want to teach me because I live far and I can’t drive at all. Usually a person who can’t drive at all is difficult to find a coach. But later, he promised to teach me. However, because he is a good teacher, he is very busy. I still don’t know when I can begin to study. He told me maybe at the end of this month. I hope so.

To learn driving is not that difficult. I don't believe it worths you to wait a specified coach for a long time. There're so many driver coachs available at anytime

A good coach can save more money, the end of this month is not so long, so I choose waiting.

I don’t know what I can write down today until I typed the date July 20. Oh, I have been Canada for exactly one year!

Time goes so quickly. It seems a long time since I came here. In the past one year, I was a housewife at first time, then was a volunteer in a company, then have my own salary in Canada. However, salary was reduced two months later because the financial crisis. Every one in our company had the same experience. I don’t know when the crisis will go away. Some said it already went away. But some said their company could support only two months more, some said they already stayed in home. As a fact, our salary still doesn’t go back. What I can do is improving my working skill as possible as I can.

If use one word to describe the life, it’s ‘busy’. Learning working skill, learning English, taking care of the kid, doing housework, working……. And it’s just a beginning. The busy status will last at least for several years. Maybe several years later I can have a leisure life when my English is good enough to communicate with others, when I don’t need to worry about what I can do because my working skill is good enough. But it’s not now.

Anyway, to me, immigration is a better choice. I have a different live style. I had done a same job in a same school for ten years. And maybe it will last for the next 20 years if I stay in China.  Now, I don’t know. I don’t know if I will do the current job, and even the same job, it’s impossible that I stay in a same company in the following years. It’s a challenge.

In fact, I am afraid that being busy is a very good status. Enjoy the process, always have dream and aim. All of these will be nice memory when we get old. One day, when I chatted with my friend, I thought it would be my happiest moment when I bring my grandchildren travel all around world telling them about my stories.

You are making great progress, keep going.

Since most of the events you write here are being recalled from the past, you may use the past tense more consistently, actually from my observation, present tense is far less used than the past tense when people are talking about their stories.

On the other hand, practise more with words like "might, would, should, could..." which have better efficiency to express your thoughts in mind, for example, "I should have finished this paper works sooner but I just couldn't focus on it" and "Who would have thought it happend" etc, these kinds of “虚拟语气” will make your speech appealled to local people, and they don't have to wait till your last word to catch ur exact meaning.

I like to watch western babies more because many of them are beautiful, like dolls.

I want my daughter marry a Chinese because I think they will be easy going with same country culture. Although we live in Canada, we still keep the Chinese custom or thoughts. It will affect my daughter too. I think there would have less conflict if they have same custom.

When I was young I liked the story such as ‘ Cinderella’
or ‘ a prince on a white horse’ . While when I grew up, I knew it was just fairy tale. Even an ordinary person marry an excellent person, they have many conflicts. Now I think at most of the time a person who marries according to his/her stations is a prerequisite for their true happiness.

Hehe, it’s too early to talk about it.   I would advise her that marrying a Chinese would be better.

Yes, I think I am lucky too. I planed to do a labour job or study when I prepared to immigrate.

As a result of lucky, I need study more quickly. Because I don't qualify the job, both the working skill and English. I'll cherish the chance. Like XianYun said ' stay as long as I can'
