hehe, thank you for your kindness. recently there is something that annoys me but it seems that it is out of my control. i hope everything goes well. i will keep my fingers crossed.

We had an interesting LINC class yesterday. We were training speaking at most of the time.

The first topic was about learning English style. You should introduce your experience to everybody. Many of my classmates just had learned it for couples of months. I was shy to say that I had learned it for so many years and still stayed in the same level.  In fact, we put a lot of energy into learning English. I don’t know why they can grasp it much easier than us. No matter they are from India or Russia.

Then we introduced some something which you wanted to share. Every topic had better be finished within 3 minutes. One person taught us how to make sandwich because his first job was making sandwich.  Another lady taught us the waltz dancing steps. After she introduced it, one classmate followed her step by step. At last they danced a waltz for all of us. A beautiful dance! It’s interesting.

My introduction is how to cook a Chinese food --- tomato with egg. This food is a simple, regular Chinese food but it’s delicious.  I regret to say my introduction is not so good. Although I thought it was simple, I talked twice times to make them understand. And they still asked me how much flavor we should put such as how much oil, how much sugar amount or salt amount. I can’t describe it exactly. I just said ‘ It is up to you. If you like sweet you can put more sugar.’  My Chinese eloquence is not good, let alone English one. But it is a chance to improve it because I have to say more.

Maybe they are learning much harder than you

Maybe it's true, but not exactly. Many of them said they just leaned English in LINC class. One lady never touch English at all before she came in Canada. She has learned in LINC class for 8 months. She takes care of her daughter in home. She told me she didn't have any time to learn English except LINC class. But we are in same level.  The teacher explained she lived in Germany for a period. German is similar to English.

Anyway, I have learned English for at least 8 years. I should not be in level 3. That's why I should work hard now.

How about Canadian’s impression on Chinese? Maybe it’s not so good. Why I think so?

The news here for Chinese are always negative. Some news are relating the facts but not exactly according to the fact. They like to add many negative things there. Sometimes you felt angry when you heard the news. However, the public don’t know it’s not the truth. They know Chinese just from the news.

I remembered a thing. The LINC teacher’s pen was not working. The first sentence he said is ‘Maybe it’s made in China’. Although he said it was a joke later. I don't think it is a joke.  In fact many Chinese products are not as good as other countries’. For example, I bought two pots at same time. One was made in China, another was made in French.  The French’s pot is much better than another one. But its price is much more expensive too.

Some times I think it’s not worthy to do that. Damaging the natural environment, making a lot of pollution ……  Many things in the whole world are labeled ‘made in China’. They use them but at the same time they think Chinese products are cheap.

Sometimes our LINC teacher talked about Japan too. He showed respect when he talked this country. He said it was a great country. The country was so small and it was poor in resources. But the economic was in the top.

I felt better after Dr zhang gave me some suggestions. The article looked fluent.
But I felt the essay today which is not so fluent. It seems a lot of errors there. But I don't know where, just feel strange.

How about Canadian’s impression on Chinese? Maybe it’s not so good. Why I think so?

You're right. Images of China and Chinese government are not good in western countries, mostly due to biased local medias.

The net friends can have the picnic and the BBQ again since the strike finished. The location of the picnic was TOOGOOD park yesterday. It was the first time I went there. It was beautiful.

The houses there are large and beautiful. Usually they have two-car garage or three-car garage. Near our picnic location, the garden is so big just like a playground. I heard from the net friends that the house there at least was worth 1 million dollars. I don’t know the value of the houses exactly, but it’s beautiful. I never see so many new and big houses in Toronto. It looks comfortable.

There was a lake in the TOOGOOD park and many ducks and swans were there. The children were feeding the little animals and the parents were talking with each other. After feeding the little animal my daughter exercised throwing the little stones into the lake with another same age boy. They picked the stone together and compared the distance they through. They cheered with ‘boat! boat!’ when an old man in a single boat passed by. It was a happy time.

We visited a street near the park after we finish the picnic. It’s a European look street. Some persons were playing music in the square.  The people sat in the store just beside the street with a cup of coffee or beer, enjoying the sunshine and music. It looked so leisure. There were flowers everywhere beside the street. Most of them were visitors just like us. The price of the stuff there were not so expensive. I found the shoes in a small store only cost $15 and they looked beautiful. Unfortunately, they were too big to fit my feet because they were special, not so many sizes I could choose. The swimming suit in another store was about $10. ‘Special sale’ were pasted in almost every store except the icecream or coffee store.

I took some photos there. I will post some in the thread if I have time tonight.
