Regions participating in the QHR project The Montréal region joins the Estrie, Lanaudière and Capitale-Nationale regions as participant in the QHR project. Are you living in the Capitale-Nationale, Estrie, Lanaudière or Montréal regions and enrolled in the Québec health insurance plan? If so, you are automatically among those participating in the gradual implementation of the QHR project.
The QHR is the government’s largest computerization project to date. This is why the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux has decided to implement it progressively.
An experimental phase has already taken place in the Capitale-Nationale, affecting a limited number of citizens and health care professionals. This phase provided a reliable picture of the project’s progress and made it possible to develop a list of recommendations.
The objectives of this phase were to assess the extent to which:
- the system responded well to the needs and realities of health care professionals as it became integrated into various clinical environments;
- the exchange of clinical information between participating service sites was done in a reliable, high-performance and secure manner;
- the product’s components remained reliable, high-performance and secure in various clinical environments.
Armed with that experience and the lessons learned in the Capitale-Nationale region, the QHR is now being extended to other regions, while pursuing its efforts to improve the solution.
