天气预报今日蒙城暴风雨,只有呆在家里了。
Summary
These regions will see 50 to 100 millimetres of rain and even up to 120 millimetres in areas near the us border.
Details
At 09:00 AM, tropical storm Irene is located near New York City and is tracking north-northeast. The tropical system will reach New England this evening and will gradually become a post-tropical low pressure system. This system will move across the Gaspé Peninsula and the Lower North Shore Monday. Heavy rain has already reached the Eastern Townships this morning. Heavy rain will affect a number of regions located west of the system's track. This area of rain will affect much of southwestern, central and Eastern Quebec, where 50 to 120 millimetres are expected. Also, strong to high northeasterly winds will reach 60 to 100 km/h in a corridor from Montréal to the lower St Lawrence. The rain and winds will spread eastward to affect the lower St Lawrence and the Gaspé Peninsula tonight. High winds associated with this storm will occur during a period of strong tides, favouring coastal flooding. Storm surge warnings are already in effect for coastal regions of the St Lawrence river between Quebec City and the Lower North Shore for these periods. Public warning: the storm's track is gradually becoming clearer. Please consult future forecasts, as warnings could be extended to other regions of Quebec in the next few hours. Please refer to regional public forecasts issued by Environment Canada for details pertaining to each region. These forecasts can be found at WWW.WEATHEROFFICE.GC.CA. |
