Last night, R held a family concert on his front terrace. The music was so charming and I couldn't help coming to join them, of course, with R's invitation. The band was comprised of three middle-aged local men, one of whom was playing the guitar and another guy next to him was playing the harmonica. They played and sang, trodding the floor fiercely, completely lost in music.
I sang some chinese folk songs as well as a local opera, which unexpectedly stirred up a puff of applause among them.
The elder guy, who played the harmonica with apparently injured fingers, said: Oh, I want to have a Chinese wife. I replied:If you were younger, you could. I am married, sorry. Then all of us burst into laughter. |
