加国城市可持续性排名：多市在大城市中居冠

独立媒体公司Corporate Knights发布了其第四年度城市可持续性(urban sustainability)排名报告，在大型城市、中等城市和小城市三类城市中，多伦多、温哥华和耶洛奈夫(Yellowknife)分别夺得第一名。

        耶洛奈夫是连续第三年在小城市排名中占据第一位，报告给出的理由是其城市星罗密布的道路网络使得四分之一的居民都能步行上班。尽管这里的气温比较寒冷，还是有非常多的居民选择公共交通工具。

        多伦多在大城市中排名第一，原因是其温室气体排放量已比1990年减少40%，地区贸易激励措施巩固了当地经济，另外城市中产阶层不断扩大。越来越多的多伦多人选择绿色出行方式，家庭能源消耗也较以前减少。

        温哥华战胜两届冠军哈利法克斯市(Halifax)，在中等城市中排名第一。报告称温哥华的减少温室气体排放目标更为严格，拥有较多自行车道和绿地，饮食更为方便。

The cities we rank are the most populous centres in each province and territory and the ten most populous cities in the country. Cities are grouped into three brackets on the basis of population size. Big Cities have a population over 700,000, Medium Cities have a population over 250,000, and Small Cities have a population under 250,000. They include:
