权当给大家的G类小阅读了。
还是比较欣赏这样的企业文化的。
A recent incident in one of our sites has prompted this note reminding everyone in our community about our core values. The incident started in an ordinary way; a team of employees were reviewing a project, and two of them disagreed about a certain point. Then, after arguing for a while, one turned to the other and insulted his race and national origin.
Our culture is built on a handful of core values. One of them has to do with how we argue among ourselves. Arguing is fine. From the back and forth of an argument we often synthesize a better answer to our questions than any one of us could comp up with on our own. And argument can get heated. That’s also OK. We care about our positions, and about the results we generated. if that caring gets expressed emotionally, that’s OK. But what isn’t ever OK is for the arguments turn to personal. You can criticize a person’s position. For instance, you can say you think someone’s idea is stupid (if you are prepared to say why). But you can’t say the person is stupid.
Personalizing disagreements is unacceptable in the company.
Another one of our core values is the unacceptability of prejudice about race, geder, national origin or religion. One of our great strength flows from the diversity of our community, and the breadth, and depth, of experiences who are different from us; from different countries, or different races, or religions or of different genders. We cannot allow those different to influence our business decisions. What matters is what skills or abilities each one of us brings to our job.
Prejudice about race, gender, national origin or religion is unacceptable in our company. The individual in question was terminated for behavior inconsistent with our values. |
