I got a competition last night. It's the semifinal competition of the L’Oreal brand storm competition, and we are asked to design the first perfume for Maybelline New York. We have three members for each team. And we were selected as one of the 18 teams to compete in the semifinal. There will be 5 team survive in this round. I think we did a good job. The two girls in my team are quite excellent, both in English and performance. I was quite relaxed before the presentation, and I was telling jokes with the girls. We practiced a lot on it and I'm quite confident on it as usual. The presentation is in English and lasted about 15 minutes. I led the process, and I think we cooperated very well. However, the judge asked a question we didn't expect. It is about our target customers. The target customers we listed are people who would use our products while the judges think they should be the people we do advertisements. We think in a strategic way while she thinks in a marketing way and we cannot get each one persuaded. We analyzed and argued for a while but I found we didn’t make any progress in making her understood. On the way home, we discussed about the problems in the team. And I realized it can be solved if we had prepared for that small question. We didn’t receive a call last night which means we failed. It is really important to find the right strategy if you want to be successful, but do remember that detail is something you cannot ignore. 我的英语空间,http://www.engshare.com/?5 |
