Hello,
If you teach English as a second language (as opposed to being an English professor), your NOC code would be 4131 College and Other Vocational Instructors. Here is a link to the profile: http://www23.hrdc-drhc.gc.ca/2001/e/groups/4131.shtml
Sincerely,
The NOC team

Subject: 20070919-101511-000-B inquiry about NOC, thank you!
Dear Sir (Madam),
I am writing to you to inquire about how to determine my NOC Category.
I have been an English teacher at a Chinese medical university for 8 years. I only have Bachelor's degree but I plan teaching, give lectures, grade examinations and occasionally do some research . I can see in NOC list that three occupations are close to mine: 4121, 4122, 4131.
4121 requires a doctoral degree which I don't have.
4122 : teaching assistants. Though I am entitled Teaching Assistant for the first 5 years, but my actual work is equal to college lecturers or instructors.
As for 4131, I am not a medical teacher in the medical university , I am just an English teacher, can I fall into this category?
Our two co untries have different definitions and practices , I am really confused.
I will be really grateful if you answer my questions.
Yours Sincerely
William |
