Our office has received all the required documents needed to finalise your application and your application is indeed in the final stages.

At this time all the documents that we require have been received, your application has been sent to a Visa Officer for final review. Please be patient.

这个难说啊，现在谁也说不准，普通背调和安全背调现在都乱七八糟的，可以出现在体检前后任何时期。。。

我觉得没啥区别，前面一个是说所有材料均已收到，你的案子确已到了审理的最后阶段，后面一个是说你所有材料已经交到一个签证官手上做最后审理。您觉得这两句白话文有区别吗？俺觉得没有。

如果你和你的家人都没有敏感背景，就不会遭到安全背调，既然已经体检过了，普通背调可能性也极小。

今天又收到使馆的回信：

Please be advised that if you wish to borrow your passport you may do so
at anytime, please read the following carefully or go to our web site:
http://www.beijing.gc.ca/beijing ... igrate/index.htm#08
By submitting your written request in person to our office from Monday
to Thursday between 8:00 to 11:00, you can receive your passport the
same afternoon.
If you prefer the return of your passport by mail, processing time for
this request may take up to 4 weeks. Please fax this request t (86-10)
6532-1684. Please make sure that you clearly indicate your request, as
well as your name, date of birth and file number, along with the address
in Chinese characters where you would like us to send the passports and
your original signature.
Please remember that you need to return the passport for the case to be
finalised otherwise there may be delays in issuing the visa.
We hope this answers your question, know that we will not actioned your
request unless you send us a fax, or come to our office in person.
