Dec. 21, 2006

I was in need of some kitchenware which were missing in my kitchen. So I went to a supermarket, bought two pots and a cutting board. When I unpacked them I found that they are all "made in China". This is not a coincidence. Whenever you buy something with good quality under reasonable price, you will find them "made in China". You just cannot avoid it. That's probably why Americans always feel threatened by China. If one day we stop supplying them...

i didn't do much research on this issue and i don't know who represents mainstream, obviously not CNN

i think average people are generally not against "made in china". what matters is the quality and price of the products. last month i had a talk with a law professor about the rising foreign exchange rate. he had some interesting opinion on this. he said the US government is crazy. they keep giving pressure to chinese government for raising the exchange rate. this doesn't stop the importation of chinese products but makes american people pay more for the "made in china" products in US market. his view is this is stupid, we are living on those "made in china"! of course, politicians will say something totally different.

If one day we stop to supply them the cheaper stuff, other countried will do it such as Vietnam, India.....
That is why US is that rich. before "made in China", they got these stuff from South of america like Argentina, Brazil....
US always choose the countries  to supply them where Labor force price is very cheap

老美什么都会做,it's all about labor rate。这也是中国一直以来在国际市场公认的竞争力所在。不知是好事还是坏事。

such competitiveness might just was narrowed at the labor-intensive industry. labor-intensive transforms into technology-intensive is a must for the future China.
