Sept. 18, 2006
Saturday, I went to a Chinese supermarket and got quite a few things that I've been missing since I landed in the States, one of them being the sunflower seeds (瓜子). They even have the famous brand ChaCha (洽洽). So I grabbed one back and started enjoying it at home the whole weekend. While cracking and eating, I saw the instructions printed on the bag. It reads like this:
How to eat ChaCha Seeds
Crack the shell with your teeth, eat the seed and spit the shell.
(this is nothing new, though you can alternatively use your nails to crack the shell).
Be cautious don't eat the seed without spitting the shell!
(is it so that these Americans eat the seeds as well as the shell?! i'm scared. ) |
