【求助】多伦多是否有3个月以内的医疗保险？

我们夫妇俩打算7月登陆多伦多，但我爱人怀孕了，我很担心登陆头三个月的医疗问题，大家帮忙出出主意好吗？是否有3个月的短期医疗保险呀?

The 3 month waiting period will apply to you, yes. Newborn babies born in Ontario do not have to wait for this 3 month period.

When you arrive and need pre-natal care, you will want to contact a Community Health Centre. These centres provide health services, including pre and post natal care, and some of them offer services to newcomers who do not have their OHIP/Health card yet. Find out more here:

If you get private insurance, make sure that you ask what coverage is available and what is not, it is up to you to understand the features of any insurance you might buy. It is possbible that pregnancy-related costs will not be covered.

There are many organizations that provide services for pregnant women in communities across Ontario. You can find services and support in newcomer-serving organizations, community-based non-profit organizations, community health services offered by the city or regional government, community centres, and hospitals.

Some of these organizations may provide services to you even without a valid health card.

1、首先告诉大家：头三个月的医疗保险是肯定有的！政府也支持新移民买这样的保险，这样政府就少很多负担了呀！ 我LINC班的同学有买的，如果哪位想知道更详细的情况，我可以帮你们问问；

2、楼主和笨笨们，如果因为老婆怀孕而担心，想买医疗保险，我可以告诉你们：不用那么担心！！这里的孕妇是绝对优先的。如果没有健康卡，一样可以找到医生专门为你定期检查，而且是FREE的 。有了健康卡，更是不用担任何心了！！

TANGANNE:刚刚生完我们家宝宝，正在“坐月子”中。
　

首先让大家放心，在多伦多生宝宝常规来讲是不要自己掏票票的，当然得要有健康卡才行。如果选择住四人间的病房（standard）,就不要掏钱；如果选择两人间或单人间则要自己掏钱。一般来讲就住一两天无所谓的，选个四人房省点钱的说。医院几乎提供母婴的一切用品，自己只要带好出院时穿的衣服就行了。出院的时候连个手续都不用办，护士给个大信封装着各种要办理的资料，还送了两罐formula，就一切ok了。简单的我都不敢相信，我跟老公说总得收点钱意思意思吧？享受了那么好的待遇，咱不好意思啊！可没地方要啊！

如果登陆时还没有健康卡，就要考虑好登陆时间，一般5个多月时登陆比较好，来了马上办卡，3个月后健康卡才生效。为保险起见，没卡的这段时间千万保证宝宝别早出来！！！这样等拿到卡后刚好快到预产期了，可以拿着卡到医院注册（preregister），生的时候直接奔医院就可以了。

那么没卡的这段时间产科检查怎么办呢？不用急，加拿大会充分让大家体会到社会的温暖的！这里有许多社区健康中心可以帮助大家找产科医生（OB），之后就能开始常规的产科检查了，这一切（包括B超、验血、尿检等等）当然也是免费的。我是先在west hill community health center 找的一个叫Amy Ou的义工，由她帮我找的OB。

另外，如果时间凑得比较好的话，你还可以赚点小钱，这里有很多产前班（prenatal class）和营养师课堂可以参加，会报销TTC车票，有很多零食可以吃，有的每次还会发10块钱补助以及一些优惠券。但发补助的地方一般要排队才能报上名（没办法，有便宜总是大家都想沾）。我是不愿等，随便找了个附近的产前班上了，没有领过补助。

姐妹们不用担心，照顾好自己，补充好营养才是最重要的事情。这里的社会对小孩子看得比什么都重要，有问题找相关的地方肯定会得到帮助的。当然有问题不明白的欢迎给我来信！

我自己在没有拿道健康卡时末叶通过相同的方法，联系了一家HELP CENTER。免费看了医生，还做了一个小手术。都是FREE的。 所以不用太担心了，准爸爸们！！！！
