Why Is Man of Steel Rated PG-13? Violence: A child is bullied in school and on the street. A woman is shot on screen. Characters frequently engage in fistfights and other hand-to-hand combat. Minor depictions of blood are shown. A character is stabbed to death and others are engulfed in flames. A man steals clothes. Students are in peril when their bus drives over the side of a bridge and begins to sink in the river below. Characters are threatened by a tornado and one man is killed. The remains of corpses are seen at an abandoned outpost. A man vomits and bleeds after being exposed to a different atmospheric pressure. A woman is thrown around and pushed by aliens. Numerous planes are attacked and downed by aliens. Frequent destructive depictions are seen including falling building, crushed cars, demolished property and explosions.
