8 hours later, year 2014 will pass. I can feel the time going by fearfully and hopefully. Let me count what I have gotten in 2014 in a materialistic way.
Two good books. One of them, Marketing Management, I should have knew and read many years ago. It would greatly benefit my study and work. Unfortunately, I haven't meet this book at that time.
Trips to the seaside. With a small expenditure, each of them takes 2 days , which give us short breaks in the Spring and Summer. We try our best get rid of the crowds which made the trip perfect.
New sports. I have done yoga for two years, transferring from Hata to Ashtanga. Without much pressure, I like this sport. With the strength and flexibility that yogo gives me, I begin to play volleyball.
A new way to view people. Type 1, they are living to get rid of fears of poverty, normal, illness...Type 2, they are living to live. I have to admit I am Type 1. But I really respect those Type 2, like the Dutch soccer player Johannes Cruijff used to be. Probably, Type 2 never count what they get like what I am doing.
Hope everyone happy new year.
Where should I settle down in Canada? To be frank, I know little about this huge country. The deepest impression is from Jack London’s story “Build Fire” in which a man was frozen in extremely cold Yukon. Getting rid of cold becomes my first criteria on choosing settling place. Also, I am not pursuing “successful career”. Entertainment and sport are more important for me.Therefore, I hope to choose a city:
[*]A sport hub with plenty of skating, football, swimming, martial arts and other sports facilities.
[*]Reasonable house price.
[*]A small or medium city.
[*] Not colder than -15 degree in the coldest winter.
[*]Good kindergarten and schools.
[*]Relatively easy to apply citizenship.
[*]Oakville,Burlington,Hamilton and Kingston between Toronto and Ottawa in Ontario.
[*]Victoria near Vancouver.
[*]Calgary from Alberta.
[*]Halifax from Quebec
[*]Charlottetown from Prince Edward Island
Above are all small and warm enough. But from a small boxes on google map, I can hardly imagine living there. Hope I will learn more about them. Here is my reference: city temperature in Canadahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temperature_in_Canada
