I have a friend who gotdumped, so I gave him a blind date in order to hlep him to cheer up.He loved this girl at first sight. He fell for her, but at the beginning, they went dutch. Some time later, he pops the question, and she accepted him, because she thought she found Mr. right. A month later, they tied the knot. From then on, we often have double date. 本帖最后由 life007 于 2013-2-15 08:01 编辑they went dutch不懂?---------各人付自己的账
why"we often have double date."?*-) "Going Dutch" is a term that indicates that each person participating in a group activity pays for himself, rather than any person paying for anyone else, particularly in a restaurant bill. It is also called Dutch date, Dutch treat (the oldest form) and "doing Dutch".

a blind date
cheer up
love at first sight
fall for somebody
Mr. Right they went dutch不懂?---------各人付自己的账

还是觉得第一句里,to cheer him up更简洁自然些 6# 玫瑰金

关于crush on. 有这样的一句话“Do you have a crush on idioms? ” 不懂啥意思,问老师,老师给举了个例子:She has a crush on her boss. it means that She love her boss, but her boss is not right for her, it is not real love. 我的理解就是喜欢上不该喜欢的人,错爱。可是觉得这样理解的话,那“Do you have a crush on idioms? ”如何理解?你错爱成语吗?成语是不该喜欢的吗?不对啊,在网上查,有人说是“对。。。着迷”的意思,按这个来理解“Do you have a crush on idioms? ”就能理解了,但是,如果ON后面是人的话,还用着迷,就体现不出老师讲的不该喜欢的意思了。我在纠结,是不是老师说的“不该喜欢”只是针对这个句子的具体语境来说的,而不是针对crush on 这个成语
