Dear ******** SUN
This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada in the Federal Skilled
Worker (FSW) Program received on 2/11/2008.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is pursuing a number of initiatives which may offer
alternative avenues to permanent residence in Canada for applicants currently awaiting FSW
processing. To this end, CIC has engaged provincial and territorial governments, who share
immigration jurisdiction in Canada, on an FSW Backlog Reduction Pilot. The aim of this pilot is to
nominate FSW applicants with experience in key occupations under Provincial Nominee
Programs.
CIC would like to advise you that British Columbia (BC) is currently interested in applicants with
work experience in a field that matches a National Occupation Classification code that you
identified in your FSW application. As such, you may wish to contact BC about being considered
for nomination under the BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
If you are interested in exploring this option, please visit www.WelcomeBC.ca/FSWPilot to learn
more. This website includes information about BC’s nomination criteria for this pilot program as
well as all necessary information you will need in order to submit an application (including
document checklists and all required forms). You do not have to pay any additional application
fees to be considered under this pilot.
In addition to receiving expedited processing by CIC, the BC PNP will also assist applicants to
connect with potential employers in BC and will provide information and other pre-arrival
assistance to prepare you to enter the BC workforce.
If you wish to apply to this pilot program your application must be received no later than
June 30, 2012 at the following address:
BC Provincial Nominee Program
c/o Federal Skilled Worker Pilot
800 - 360 West Georgia St
Vancouver, BC V6B 6B2 Canada
Your application to this program is entirely voluntary. If you decide to participate in this pilot and
are nominated by BC, this could result in an earlier visa issuance for you. Should you be
successful in receiving a nomination from BC, your file will be processed as a Provincial Nominee
and your FSW application will be withdrawn. If you do not wish to apply or are not nominated by
BC, your application will remain in the FSW queue until it comes up for processing.
As a provincial nominee applicant you would still be required to meet admissibility criteria as set
out in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. If CIC determines that you do not meet these
criteria and are inadmissible, your application for a permanent resident visa will be refused.
Sincerely,
Centralized Processing Region – Ottawa
