OTTAWA -- Federal health officials are warning people not to eat certain Halloween candies because they may contain harmful pieces of metal.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the recall covers individually wrapped Original Brand Original Halloween Kiss candies.

The product, which says "made by Bonbons Associes" on the wrapper, was sold in bulk at locations across Canada.

Retail-sized packages are not affected by the recall.

The agency says consumers who are unsure if they have affected product are advised to check with their retailer.

There have been no reported injuries linked to eating these candies.

The manufacturer, the Quebec division of Original Foods, is voluntarily recalling the product from the marketplace and the CFIA is monitoring that effort.
